Steps For Ease In Installing Your Custom Boat Cover

1. Place your cover on the boat and pull the front over the bow. Fasten the bow strap around the trailer frame. This will hold the cover in place as you unroll it to the rear.

2. Pull the cover over the motor and rear boat corners. Fasten the rear straps around the trailer going to the buckle on the same side (outside corner).

3. Hook each rope ratchet in the trailer tie down location, outboard motor mount, jack plate, or transom eye as and example. You can use the location that works best for you.

4. Tighten both sides of the draw rope.Pull on the free end of the rope until tight. You may wish to shorten the free end of the rope. Leave at least one foot extra after tightening. Tie a knot in the end to stop the rope from pulling out of the ratchet. The ends of the Rope can be melted to prevent fraying.

5. Pull the corners down so the seam lies close to the rub rail.

6. Tighten the front and rear straps if needed.

7. Tighten the straps which run across the width of the cover. Unless ordered differently, these will run down around the trailer and back up to the buckle on the same strap. We have found that twisting or rotating the webbing on the way down to the trailer and also on the way back up to the buckle will reduce vibrations. This will improve performance and reduce wear. The straps may require shortening by cutting them to the necessary length after tying. You may also melt the end to prevent fraying.

8. When you are ready to remove the cover: To release the ratchet pull on the free end to relieve tension. Press the lever located above the ratchet spool toward the hook. This will allow the spool to release tension.
   
   

9. Tie the rope on the motor cover; wrap the ends around the front of the motor; then to the back and tie a bow knot or whatever is best for you.

Tips For Extended Life Of Your Custom Boat Cover

1. To prevent mold, never store your cover wet for an extended period.

2. Before towing your covered boat; inspect the location of the reinforcement pads with relation to the possible abrasion areas.

3. Check the tightness of the ropes and tie down straps when you stop during a trip.

4. A treatment of water repellancy periodically will enhance performance and improve longevity. The type of fabric you have chosen will determine the type of repellent required. Your dealer can help with locating this information.

5. Avoid contact with and/or wash off, if possible, these items which may damage or discolor your cover: battery acid, grease, gasoline, tree sap and bird and spider droppings.

6. Do not flip cigarette ashes out of your vehicle windows.

7. Do not move vehicle with straps hanging loose on the ground.

8. Most fabrics we offer are breathable materials. If your boat is wet during use, it may be advisable to pull back or remove the cover, if possible, to speed up the drying process.
